Duke Blue Devils defeat Stanford 35-7

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Stanford Cardinal 35-7 at Wallace Wade Stadium, improving their season record to 3-0. The victory marks a strong start for head coach Manny Diaz, who has helped transform the roster into an ACC contender.

Quarterback Walker Eget led the offense, completing 14 of 24 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown. The Duke wide receiver corps showed increased depth and involvement during the game. Stanford, now 1-2, suffered its 12th consecutive road loss, a program record. The Cardinal struggled defensively, allowing 268 rushing yards to Duke.

Despite an early momentum shift from a Duke onside kick, the game remained scoreless in the first quarter after Duke failed to capitalize on a goal-line interception by cornerback Darrius Davis. Duke took control in the second quarter with two scoring drives, including a 32-yard run by Nate Sheppard, before pulling away with rushing touchdowns in the second half.
