Duke player Kimari Robinson faces backlash after swatting at female trainer

Duke University defensive back Kimari Robinson is facing intense criticism following a viral incident during a football game against North Carolina. The confrontation occurred when Robinson aggressively swatted the arm of a female athletic trainer, Grace Dietrich, who was attempting to clear space so medical staff could treat injured teammate Dashawn Stone.

The incident, which was broadcast live on ESPN, drew widespread condemnation from fans and sports figures. Former NFL quarterback and analyst Robert Griffin III criticized the behavior on social media, stating, “As a man, this just can’t happen. No excuses for it.”

Public reaction has included calls for Robinson to be suspended or removed from the team. While some observers suggested his actions stemmed from concern for his injured teammate, many argued that medical personnel must be allowed to work without interference, noting that athletic trainers serve as essential first responders on the field.
