Duško Trifunović Days to celebrate poet and songwriter's legacy

The “Duško Trifunović Days” literary and musical manifestation is set to begin on September 13 in Pale. The event honors the legacy of Duško Trifunović, one of the region's most significant poets and songwriters.

Scheduled activities at the Pale Cultural Center include a roundtable discussion titled “Kajaće se ko ovo prespava,” featuring professors and writers discussing Trifunović’s poetry and personal history. The program also includes a literary-musical evening, the presentation of the “Duško Trifunović” literary award, a concert by “Katere,” and a performance of “Žene u crvenom.”

Trifunović, born in 1933, was a prolific creator who authored approximately 20 books of poetry, four novels, and several plays. He is widely credited with helping shape the Sarajevo rock and roll scene, having written lyrics for iconic Yugoslav artists including Bijelo dugme, Indeksi, Zdravko Čolić, and Arsen Dedić. He also served as a prominent television author and editor for Televizija Sarajevo.
