Dukovany II completes first administrative building for new nuclear project

Elektrárna Dukovany II (EDU II) has officially opened a new six-story administrative building at the Dukovany site. This facility serves as the first completed structure related to the upcoming construction of new nuclear units, which is scheduled to begin in 2030.

The building provides workspace for nearly 200 employees, with one entire floor reserved for staff from the South Korean company KHNP. The project was completed in 19 months by the construction firm Winning PS, with design work provided by Energoprojekt Praha. The construction process utilized advanced digital tools, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) with over 42,000 modeled elements, laser scanning, and drones.

EDU II General Manager Petr Závodský noted that consolidating staff from multiple locations into this single facility is intended to improve cooperation and teamwork. The digital methodologies used in this project are expected to be applied to the much larger scale of the upcoming nuclear block construction.
