Dulux to unveil 2027 Colour of the Year and design trends

Dulux is preparing to unveil its 2027 Colour of the Year and upcoming colour forecast, which aims to identify the trends and palettes set to influence commercial and residential interiors.

Senior Designer Dawn Scott will reveal the hero colour and its social, cultural, and design influences during a webinar scheduled for September 8. The presentation will also include three supporting colour stories designed to guide application across various multi-sector projects.

According to Colour & Design Specialist Davina Harper, the 2027 forecast is driven by a global desire for connection and authenticity. The research, which includes insights from Milan Design Week, highlights a tension between the need for calm refuges and the desire for expressive, personal spaces. The forecast features three distinct palettes: ‘Play’, focusing on spontaneity and self-expression; ‘Treasure’, which is richer and more layered; and ‘Sensory’, which emphasizes natural materials and everyday rituals.
