Dumarey Group to acquire Renault's Alpine Racing facility

Renault has reached an agreement to sell its historic Alpine Racing SAS facility in Viry-Châtillon to the Belgian Dumarey Group. The deal follows Renault's decision to end its in-house Formula 1 engine development program to transition into a customer model using Mercedes power units.

The acquisition includes the transfer of approximately 150 employees and all essential assets required to operate the research and development site independently. While the financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, Renault has committed to a responsible transition, with sources indicating that social benefits and salaries are expected to be guaranteed for 24 months.

Guido Dumarey, founder and chairman of the Dumarey Group, stated that the company aims to leverage the site's high-level engineering expertise in high-performance powertrains, electrification, and advanced testing technologies. The move provides a path for the facility to potentially offer its technical expertise to other racing teams in the future.
