Dunamu outlines vision to bridge traditional and digital finance
Dunamu, the operator of the Upbit digital asset exchange, has outlined a strategic vision to bridge traditional Web2 financial systems with Web3 technology. During the Upbit Institutional Summit (UIS) 2026 and a keynote at KBW2026, CEO Oh Kyung-seok emphasized the company's goal to build a global financial infrastructure that connects existing payment platforms and users with on-chain markets.
To support this transition, Dunamu introduced several proprietary technologies designed to facilitate secure on-chain services for banks, securities firms, and fintech companies. These include the 'GIWA Chain' infrastructure, the 'Dojang' on-chain authentication system, and 'BOJAGI' privacy technology. These tools aim to allow financial institutions to offer compliant on-chain services without building their own entire infrastructure from scratch.
The company also plans to leverage its synergy with Naver Financial to combine digital asset expertise with fintech and AI capabilities. Dunamu intends to act as a bridge for domestic financial institutions to interact with US on-chain markets using KRW-based stablecoins, utilizing its existing custody, KYC, and AML capabilities.
