GMO Coin to delist SAND, CHZ, and FIL tokens

GMO Coin has announced it will cease handling three cryptocurrency tokens: The Sandbox (SAND), Chiliz (CHZ), and Filecoin (FIL). The discontinuation of trading and deposits is scheduled for October 24, 2026.

Users will have until November 7, 2026, to transfer their assets to external wallets. For assets remaining in accounts after that deadline, the company will sell them and return the proceeds in Japanese yen. GMO Coin noted that if market liquidity is low, assets might be converted at prices lower than expected.

The company cited project continuity, changes in market liquidity, and the difficulty of securing cover trading partners as the primary reasons for the decision. This move follows a broader trend among Japanese exchanges, including SBI VC Trade and BitTrade, which have also recently delisted various tokens due to similar liquidity and operational concerns.
