Dune: Part Three breaks ticket pre-sale records
Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Three’ has achieved significant pre-sale success ahead of its scheduled release. In the United States, tickets sold out within minutes, with 33,000 tickets sold during the first 24 hours of pre-sales, generating an estimated $1.3 million. This surpasses the first-day pre-sale record previously held by Christopher Nolan’s ‘Odyssey’, which earned $1 million in its first 24 hours.
In the United Kingdom, the film set a new record at the BFI IMAX in London. The single cinema sold 33,000 tickets worth over £880,000 in one day, breaking the previous record of £750,000 held by ‘Odyssey’. This performance also exceeds the first-day pre-sale figures of ‘Dune: Part Two’, which earned £366,000 at the same venue.
Based on Frank Herbert’s novel ‘Dune Messiah’, the film features a 17-year time jump and stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Jason Momoa. The production is slated for a theatrical release on December 16.
