Dune: Part Three confirmed for IMAX and large-format screenings

The concluding installment of the science fiction epic, ‘Dune: Part Three’, is set for a simultaneous release in Japan and the United States on December 18, 2026. Following the massive global success of the first two films, director Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that the film will be available in various premium large formats, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and MX4D.

The story follows Paul Atreides, portrayed by Timothée Chalamet, as he navigates the consequences of his rise to power. After achieving revenge against his enemies, Paul faces an unending conflict as his presence as a leader triggers new cosmic-scale struggles. The film explores whether he will become a hero who brings peace to the universe or a destroyer who brings ruin.

Promotional visuals for the different formats have been released, depicting Paul in various states of power and conflict, including a commanding presence on a throne for the Dolby Cinema version and encounters with sandworms for the IMAX and 4DX versions. The ensemble cast includes Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Robert Pattinson, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem.
