A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a 61-year-old man following an attack on Lisnahull Road in Dungannon, County Tyrone, on Saturday, August 29. The deceased man was identified as a Guinea-Bissau national who had lived and worked in the area for over 20 years.

In addition to the murder charge, the teenager faces two counts of attempted murder and threats to kill. The incident also involved the serious injury of the man's eight-year-old daughter and his 48-year-old wife. Police reported that the daughter was in critical condition but has since stabilized, while the wife sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital.

Superintendent Peter Stevenson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) credited the quick actions of first responders with giving the injured child a fighting chance of survival. The PSNI stated there is no ongoing risk to the public and that they are liaising with the relevant consulate regarding the family. The suspect is scheduled to appear before Omagh Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
