Dungeons & Dragons and Dungeon Crawler Carl announce major franchise expansions

Major entertainment updates were announced regarding popular tabletop and literary franchises. At Gen Con, Dungeons & Dragons revealed the return of the classic 2nd Edition setting, Dark Sun. The revival will include a new setting book titled ‘Edge of Oblivion’ and a campaign named ‘Blood & Power’, aiming to bring a modern vision to the desert world of Athas.

In television news, the live-action adaptation of the Dungeon Crawler Carl franchise has secured Academy Award nominee Eric Heisserer as co-showrunner alongside Chris Yost. The project involves executive producers Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Rachel Hargreaves-Heald, and series creator Matt Dinniman. Jeff Hays has been confirmed to provide the voice for the character Princess Donut.
