Dunkerque: Investigation launched after police vehicle maneuvers near students
An investigation has been launched following a video showing a French National Police vehicle performing high-speed maneuvers near high school students in Dunkerque. The footage, which circulated widely on social media, depicts a police vehicle driving at high speeds through a group of young protesters, mounting a sidewalk and driving in reverse.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed that a disciplinary inquiry is underway and that a formal reprimand has been issued. While no injuries were reported, the incident has drawn criticism from the Ligue des droits de l’Homme, which described the images as “shocking” and called for witnesses to come forward to assist United Nations rapporteurs.
