Duoc UC Puerto Montt hosts Reto de Talentos TP 2026 for Los Lagos schools

More than 40 students from technical‑professional high schools across the Los Lagos Region—including Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, Chonchi, Ancud, Castro and Los Muermos—participated in the second edition of the Reto de Talentos TP 2026 at Duoc UC’s Puerto Montt campus. The competition featured eight industry‑linked challenges: robotics, people management, accounting, visitor service, industrial maintenance, automotive mechanics, carpentry and health care.

Regional companies and institutions such as Biomar, the Servicio de Impuestos Internos, Compas Marine, Navimag, Hotel Courtyard, Sodycor, Berrios, Deeptrecker, Clínica Puerto Montt and DESAM served as jurors. Carlos Aubert, director of Duoc UC Puerto Montt, praised the event as a growing platform for technical education, while Andrea Zinker of ONG Canales highlighted its role in helping students experience real‑world work environments. Student Geanina Cottenie of Liceo Pedro Aguirre Cerda won first place in the accounting challenge, illustrating the event’s focus on aligning student skills with labor‑market needs.
