Dupnitsa celebrates city day with cultural events and monuments

The city of Dupnitsa is celebrating its official holiday on October 19, marking the feast day of Saint Ivan Rilski. The festivities include a formal session of the Municipal Council and various cultural events.

Key highlights of the program include the unveiling of a bust-monument dedicated to Stefan Chaprashikov, a prominent figure in Bulgarian public and competitive life during the first half of the 20th century. A dedicated gallery for Chaprashikov, featuring work by photographer Bonchuk Andonov, is also being opened at the Historical Museum. Additionally, lawyer Dimitar Iliev is expected to be honored with the ‘Honorary Sign of Dupnitsa Municipality’ for his contributions to public and cultural initiatives.

The celebration features musical performances by the ‘St. Ivan Rilski’ Male Choir and a children's concert at the ‘Nevena Kokanova’ Municipal Drama Theatre. The day concludes with a musical performance by Deep Zone Project and DJ Dido at Svoboda Square.
