Duque de Caxias expands armed Força Municipal security presence

The municipal government of Duque de Caxias has expanded its armed security division, the Força Municipal, to the Saracuruna and Campos Elíseos neighborhoods. This deployment is part of a broader strategy to increase the presence of agents on the streets and integrate municipal guards with the Military Police, Civil Police, and Federal Highway Police.

By the end of September, the city aims to have 600 agents active across various regions. The expansion includes investments in personnel, weaponry, vehicles, training, and electronic surveillance. Agents are equipped with lethal armament, including 9 mm and .40 caliber pistols and Sig Sauer rifles. Mayor Netinho Reis stated that strengthening public security is intended to attract businesses and stimulate job creation in the municipality.
