Duque de Caxias expands municipal patrols and AI surveillance

The city of Duque de Caxias is expanding its public security measures through increased physical patrols and advanced electronic surveillance. The Municipal Force has extended its presence to several neighborhoods, including Nova Campinas, Parque Paulista, Barro Branco, and Taquara in the Third District, as well as Parque Eldorado in the Second District. This expansion brings municipal agent presence to more than 30 locations, covering over 85% of the municipality's territory.

In addition to physical patrols, the city is implementing a technological surveillance belt in the first district, specifically in the Vila São Luís/Sarapuí region. The project involves installing 30 security towers equipped with a total of 180 cameras. These cameras utilize artificial intelligence for facial recognition and license plate reading. The system will be integrated into the Smart Duque Monitoring Center, allowing operators to identify individuals with outstanding warrants or stolen vehicles and coordinate rapid responses with security forces. The placement of these technologies is guided by crime data provided by the Institute of Public Security of Rio de Janeiro (ISP-RJ).
