Duque de Caxias installs third Digital Wall security system

The city of Duque de Caxias has inaugurated its third "Muralha Digital" (Digital Wall), a security system located on Avenida Leonel de Moura Brizola in the São Bento neighborhood, near the border with Belford Roxo.

The system utilizes high-resolution cameras and artificial intelligence to perform real-time license plate recognition. Captured images are sent to the Smart Duque Monitoring Center, which tracks vehicle movement across the city's four districts. The technology is specifically designed to identify vehicles that have been stolen, robbed, or have other legal restrictions. When an irregularity is detected, operators alert the Military Police to take necessary action.

Local authorities clarified that the cameras are intended exclusively for public security and are not used for traffic enforcement or generating fines. This third installation expands upon previous structures located at the border with Rio de Janeiro and in the Parque Duque neighborhood. The initiative is part of Mayor Netinho Reis's administration strategy to utilize technology to combat crime.
