The city of Duque de Caxias will host its first Literary Festival (FLIDUC) from September 23 to 26, 2026. Promoted by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Tourism, the event aims to integrate the city into the circuit of major Brazilian literary festivals.

Taking place at the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center, the festival will utilize several local venues, including Praça do Pacificador, Raul Cortez Theater, and the Municipal Library Governor Leonel de Moura Brizola. The program features a diverse range of activities such as debates, conferences, workshops, book signings, exhibitions, and performances.

The event seeks to bring together writers, publishers, educators, and students to promote literature as a tool for social transformation and creative economy development in the Baixada Fluminense region.
