Duquesne Family Office pivots to Bitcoin miners and AI infrastructure

Stanley Druckenmiller’s Duquesne Family Office has significantly restructured its portfolio, according to its Q2 13F filing. The billionaire investor exited all positions in legacy semiconductor companies Intel and Micron Technology.

In place of these holdings, the office has pivoted toward Bitcoin mining and AI-adjacent infrastructure. New major positions include 4.07 million shares in Bitdeer Technologies, 754,800 shares in Riot Platforms, 314,150 shares in Hut 8, and 87,100 shares in IREN. The shift suggests a preference for the energy-intensive compute layer that supports both cryptocurrency mining and AI workloads.

Additionally, Duquesne disclosed a new $23.15 million position in Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR), acquiring 2.94 million shares. The portfolio also saw the re-establishment of a position in Alphabet and new stakes in AMD and Lam Research, focusing on the advanced AI semiconductor value chain. Total assets under management for the family office reached approximately $5.21 billion.
