Durabook and Dell launch new rugged AI-ready mobile devices

Durabook and Dell Technologies have announced new rugged mobile computing solutions designed for demanding field environments, including defense, public safety, and industrial sectors.

Durabook introduced the R12 Rugged Tablet, an active edge AI platform powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. The device is designed to handle local AI workloads, offering up to 412 TOPS of combined AI compute through an optional discrete GPU. It features a 12.2-inch sunlight-readable display and is built to support advanced AI inference and computer vision in areas with unreliable connectivity.

Dell Technologies unveiled the Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and Dell Pro Rugged 14 laptops. These MIL-STD-810H certified devices are built to operate in temperatures ranging from -29°C to 63°C. Both models utilize Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and offer features such as gloved and water multi-touch support, hot-swappable batteries, and optional private 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity to ensure productivity in harsh climates.
