Duralex takeover bid maintained by Cédric Meston despite investigation
Cédric Meston, the prospective buyer of Tupperware, has confirmed he is maintaining his takeover bid for the glassware company Duralex. This decision comes despite an investigation opened by the Orléans prosecutor's office into alleged management failures since the company transitioned to a worker cooperative (Scop) in July 2024.
The investigation is specifically examining the use of public funds and aid provided to the company, which included six million euros from Orléans Métropole for the purchase of factory walls, a three million euro state bank guarantee, and a seven million euro fundraising effort.
The Orléans Commercial Court is expected to rule this Thursday on the future of the company and its 243 employees at the La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin site, choosing between three competing takeover offers.
