Durand Cup Trophy Tour Arrives in Ranchi as Jharkhand Hosts Matches

The 135th IndianOil Durand Cup trophy tour arrived in Ranchi on July 18, where a ceremonial function was held at the Kerketta Auditorium, Dipatoli Military Station. The event was led by Jharkhand Sports Minister Sudivya Kumar and attended by senior Indian Army officers, civil officials and representatives of participating football clubs. Cultural performances showcased local heritage.

Ranchi will host seven matches of the Durand Cup starting July 26, including six league games and a quarter‑final at Birsa Munda Football Stadium, marking the city’s debut as a host venue. The sports minister expressed hope that future editions could see Ranchi staging the tournament’s final matches.
