Durango and Chihuahua Highlight Security‑Driven Investment Plans

Durango officials announced a 540‑million‑peso investment in the new Eco Cab MX plant, which will create more than 200 jobs in its first phase and is scheduled to begin operations in January 2027. President of the State Board, Ernesto Alanís Herrera, credited the region’s security climate, skilled workforce and coordinated government action for attracting the project, noting cooperation with municipal leader Betzabé Martínez Arango.

In Chihuahua, state leaders discussed the impact of recent U.S. reviews of the US‑Mexico‑Canada Agreement (T‑MEC) on investment confidence. They emphasized the need for a secure, peaceful environment, stronger legal certainty, and youth employment initiatives to sustain and attract new capital despite heightened uncertainty from the renegotiation process.
