Eusebio Ayala shooting: Forensic report confirms fatal gunshots
Forensic reports and police investigations are advancing in the case of a fatal shooting in Eusebio Ayala, Cordillera, which claimed the life of 28-year-old Rebeca Martínez Aricayé and left Carolina Aguilar, 32, critically injured.
Dr. Pablo Lemir, a forensic doctor for the Public Ministry, confirmed that Martínez Aricayé died from cranial trauma caused by two gunshot wounds. The projectiles entered through the submental region and the upper neck in crossing trajectories. Forensic teams are currently analyzing metal fragments and gunpowder residue to determine the weapon's caliber and firing distance.
Two men, Juan Manuel Durañona Peralta (37) and his employee Lucas Ancelmo Núñez Silva (19), an Argentine national, voluntarily presented themselves to authorities. Both men had been seen interacting with the victims during a local event prior to the attack. While Núñez Silva has been detained, the prosecutor has not yet issued orders against Durañona, who is cooperating with the investigation.
Police are searching for six additional suspects and a white Toyota Fortuner believed to be involved in the crime. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the attack, which occurred after the victims were allegedly intercepted and forced into the vehicle before being abandoned near a cemetery.
