Durango launches ‘De Norte a Sur’ art project for Festival Revueltas 2026
As part of the Festival Revueltas 2026, the Government of the State of Durango and the Instituto de Cultura del Estado de Durango (ICED) have launched the project ‘De Norte a Sur: Durango, 100 pintores, Andamios Itinerantes’. The initiative aims to showcase the diversity of visual arts produced in the state by featuring works from 100 artists across different generations and styles.
The exhibition is hosted at the Museo de Historia y Arte Contemporáneo Palacio de los Gurza. A central component of the project is a collective mural exceeding 100 square meters, composed of self-portraits by the participating artists. To promote Durango’s artistic production nationally, the project includes a tour that will eventually reach Oaxaca to facilitate exchange between artistic communities.
