Durango to host 2026 National Indigenous Languages Fair (FLIN) in August
The Feria de las Lenguas Indígenas Nacionales (FLIN) will take place in Durango from August 13 to 16, 2026. Organized by the Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas, the fair aims to promote, strengthen and give visibility to Mexico's 68 indigenous languages. Officials highlighted the event as a key platform for celebrating linguistic diversity, fostering dialogue among indigenous communities, scholars, and government bodies, and reinforcing policies that protect and revitalize these living cultural patrimonies.
FLIN seeks to create spaces for artistic expression, academic exchange and community initiatives that support language preservation across ten participating states, emphasizing the constitutional recognition of Mexico as a pluricultural nation.
