Durango updates water efficiency and drought management plans

The city of Durango is updating its water efficiency and drought management plans to better address recent water challenges. Sustainability manager Marty Pool noted that the updates are overdue, following a period of challenging drought restrictions and fluctuating weather patterns in Southwest Colorado.

The city is seeking community feedback through a survey available on the Engage Durango page until October 19. The updated framework aims to clarify the distinction between long-term water conservation efforts and immediate responses to acute shortages, such as supply line breaks or low-water years.
