Durango wildlife rehabilitation leads to release of five species

In Durango, Mexico, the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) has released five rehabilitated wild animals into their natural habitats in the Pueblo Nuevo and Mapimí agricultural nuclei.

The released animals include two gray foxes, a caracara hawk, and a Swainson's hawk, which is a species protected under Mexican environmental regulations. These animals were cared for at the Sahuatoba Zoo in Durango until they were deemed physically and behaviorally fit for release. Additionally, a rattlesnake was released near Bermejillo, and a desert turtle with a broken shell was transferred to the Chapingo Autonomous University for continued recovery monitoring.
