Durban hosts major music and nightlife cultural events

Durban hosted several major cultural and musical events in 2026. During the Durban July weekend on July 4, Smirnoff Ice headlined the Durban Hot Box, an immersive nightlife experience. Curated by DJs Tira and Sox, the event served as a cultural space for creatives and influencers to celebrate through music and social connection.

Additionally, the 13th Annual Gagasi FM Beach Festival has been scheduled for December 5, 2026, at Moses Mabhida People’s Park in Durban. Following a sold-out 12th annual event in 2025 that drew over 12,000 attendees, the festival continues to serve as a major summer kickoff for the KwaZulu-Natal region.
