Durga Puja preparations intensify in Cuttack and Balurghat

Preparations for Durga Puja are underway in Cuttack, where more than 170 pandals are being organized for the upcoming celebrations. Artisans are working to complete clay idols and bamboo frameworks, including one approximately 18 feet tall at Professor Pada. Despite recent rainfall, craftsmen continue to work on the various stages of idol construction.

In Balurghat, the traditional festive shopping experience is shifting as younger residents increasingly utilize e-commerce platforms, mobile apps, and social media to purchase festive attire. While older generations express nostalgia for the experience of visiting crowded local bazaars and markets, the younger demographic favors the convenience of digital carts and doorstep deliveries.
