County Championship: Durham and Nottinghamshire secure dominant victories
In the Rothesay County Championship, Durham secured a massive 338-run victory over Derbyshire in Division Two. Ben Stokes led the performance with an unbeaten 66 and a five-wicket haul of 5-17, while Ben McKinney scored 140. Matthew Potts also contributed significantly with match figures of 8-71.
In Division One, Nottinghamshire defeated Surrey by 145 runs at The Oval. Despite Ollie Pope’s 111 for Surrey, Olly Stone and Dillon Pennington dominated the bowling attack. Elsewhere, Warwickshire secured a narrow one-wicket victory against Sussex at Edgbaston, led by Chris Woakes.
In Division Two, Kent strengthened their promotion bid with a 46-run win over Middlesex, aided by Matt Parkinson’s decisive final wickets. Northamptonshire also achieved a significant 316-run victory against Lancashire at Old Trafford.
