Duro Felguera reports 241 million euro profit and announces Mexico project

Duro Felguera has reported a net profit of 241.8 million euros for the first half of the year, a significant turnaround from the 26 million euro loss recorded during the same period last year. This financial recovery was primarily driven by the cancellation of 234 million euros in provisions and litigation contingencies, despite a drop in turnover to 31 million euros from 116 million euros in the previous period.

Following these results, the company's shares rose by approximately 26% on the Spanish stock market. The company has also announced an extraordinary shareholders' meeting for September 18 to approve the Tula Project in Mexico. This project involves a combined cycle power plant, the Francisco Pérez Ríos plant, promoted by the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).

Working alongside Mota-Engil México as a specialized subcontractor, Duro Felguera expects to receive approximately 210 million euros from the Tula Project. The company's role will focus on project management, technical engineering coordination, and supply supervision. This initiative is part of a broader growth plan following the judicial approval of the company's restructuring plan.
