In a police operation codenamed “Anchor,” authorities at the Port of Durrës in Albania seized approximately 80 kilograms of Gelato cannabis, which has a high THC content. The market value of the drugs is estimated at roughly 1 million euros.

Investigations revealed that the narcotics were sourced from Ontario, Canada, and transported to Albania hidden within a specially modified compartment of a vehicle purchased in Canada. Authorities suspect the drugs were intended for distribution within Albania and Kosovo.

Three Kosovar citizens—Taulant Duraku (32), Luan Gashi (26), and Besfort Jaka (40)—were arrested during the operation. Additionally, two other individuals, H. C. from Kukës and G. O., a resident of Ontario, Canada, have been declared wanted for questioning regarding their suspected roles in the smuggling scheme.
