Durrës to implement paid parking scheme starting October 5

Starting October 5, paid parking will be implemented in public streets and squares throughout Durrës. The municipality has divided the city into two zones: Zone A, with a rate of 100 lekë per hour, and Zone B, at 40 lekë per hour.

From October 1 to May 31, fees apply Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 16:00. Parking is free after 16:00, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. During the summer season (June 1 to September 30), parking fees will be applied daily from 08:00 to 20:00.

Residents living on applicable streets can obtain an annual subscription for one vehicle at a cost of 10,000 lekë. Additionally, residents may receive free parking certification for approved public spaces between apartment buildings. Payments must be made via bank card using POS terminals.

The scheme also covers specific areas including “Jorgji Ziu”, “Vollga”, and the parking area near the “Ramazan Njala” Sports Palace. In these locations, rates range from 100 lekë for up to two hours to 500 lekë for 12 to 24 hours. The municipality stated the goal is to organize parking, reduce illegal parking, and improve urban traffic flow.
