Dursun Oğuz announces nationwide social housing expansion
Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz has announced an expansion of social housing projects across various regions to address the national housing crisis. The government is implementing a three-pillar model consisting of the ‘First Home Loan’ program, the distribution of rural plots, and the development of social housing projects.
Specific housing targets include 584 units in Alayköy, 226 units in the first phase in Dikmen, and 664 units in Maraş. The Minister noted that permitting processes for the Maraş project are nearing completion. Other areas targeted for development include Esentepe, Çamlıbel, Bostancı, Haspolat, Dipkarpaz, and Iskele.
Regarding the existing programs, Oğuz stated that 1,250 people have already become homeowners through the ‘First Home Loan’ initiative. Additionally, the government continues to distribute rural land and is working to complete the infrastructure for previously allocated plots. The social housing applications in Alayköy have already begun, with beneficiaries to be selected via a transparent lottery system.
