Dustin Kensrue announces holiday album ‘That Spirit Of Christmas’

Dustin Kensrue, the vocalist and guitarist for the band Thrice, has announced his sixth solo record, a holiday album titled ‘That Spirit Of Christmas’. The album is scheduled for release on October 23rd via BMG.

The project features a mix of Christmas standards and original material. Kensrue released the lead single ‘Joy Lives Here’, a track that originated as a writing challenge for the Hallmark Channel. He noted that while he was initially uninterested in the prompt, the process allowed him to capture the personal atmosphere of his home during the holiday season. The album also includes a reworked version of his previous solo track, ‘This Good Night Is Still Everywhere’.

Drawing influence from mid-century soul music, the album aims to provide a cohesive collection of reimagined favorites and overlooked gems rather than a series of disconnected singles.
