Dustin Poirier arrested for public drunkenness at Atlanta airport

Former UFC fighter Dustin Poirier, 37, was taken into custody at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport after airport staff denied him boarding for appearing intoxicated. Body‑camera footage shows Poirier insulting police and airport personnel and attempting to provoke a fight. Officers restrained him and placed him in Clayton County Jail, where he was charged with public drunkenness, a misdemeanor that carries up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. After an initial hearing he was released on bail. Poirier later posted on Instagram, acknowledging his struggle with alcohol and the difficulty of retiring from competition.
