Dutch Bros Coffee gets tax incentive in Gadsden, Alabama and plans new drive‑thru in Romeoville, Illinois

The Gadsden City Council approved a sales‑tax incentive for Gad City Partners LLC to build a Dutch Bros Coffee drive‑through at 300 North Hood Avenue. The deal provides 2.5% of the city’s 5% sales tax for up to five years or until $500,000 is paid. Dutch Bros, which opened its first Alabama location in Decatur in August 2023, now operates eight sites across the state.

In Romeoville, Illinois, the Village Board approved the demolition of a former PNC Bank building at Weber Road and Grand Boulevard to make way for a 1,200‑square‑foot Dutch Bros drive‑through and an adjacent 2,200‑square‑foot commercial building with an undisclosed tenant. Mayor John Noak highlighted the project as part of a broader commercial reinvestment effort in the Romeo Towne Center area. The Oregon‑based chain is expanding rapidly in the Chicagoland market after a successful launch in Melrose Park earlier this year.
