Dutch cities host Pride events to celebrate diversity

Various cities in the Netherlands are hosting Pride events to promote diversity and inclusion.

In Zwolle, Pride Week is scheduled from August 24 to August 30. Organized by Comité Pride Zwolle, in collaboration with COC Zwolle, Stadkamer, and Zwolse Theaters, the week follows the cancellation of the Zwolle Pride Festival. Under the theme ‘Making Room to Bloom,’ the event aims to foster connection and visibility. A central highlight is the Pride Stage at Grote Kerkplein on August 29, featuring musical performances.

Dordrecht held its Pride celebrations on August 22, featuring a Pride Walk involving various social organizations, sports clubs, and foundations. The event included a ‘Pink Market’ stretching from Scheffersplein to the Grote Kerk, and special activities such as drag queen storytelling at the library and theatrical performances addressing themes of acceptance and faith. The day concluded with a stage program featuring multiple musical artists.
