Dutch cultural awards announce 2026 nominees

Several cultural awards in the Netherlands have announced their nominees and upcoming ceremonies.

In Moerdijk, the 2026 Culture Prize nominees include Evelyne van Ballegooijen, Klundert bij Kaarslicht, and Jometteke Poppentheater. The jury selected these candidates based on the theme of ‘togetherness’. Additionally, Gerrit Schouw will receive the inaugural lifetime achievement award for his decades of contribution to the local cultural life through music, conducting, and teaching.

In Groningen, the fourth edition of the Groningen Culture Prizes will be held on October 7, 2026, in Hoogezand. The awards recognize various categories, including the Groningen Culture Prize for institutions and makers, the Groningen Talent Prize for emerging artists, and the Amateur Art Prize. Nominees for the talent prize include Faisel Saro, Metro C, and Natte Neuzen.
