Dutch emergency services report multiple traffic accidents and fires on July 3

On July 3, Dutch emergency services responded to a series of traffic collisions, fires and other incidents across several provinces.

In Gelderland, a truck overturned on the A50 near Beekbergen, closing two lanes for up to 85 minutes. Vehicle crashes in Winterswijk left four injured, including a child; collisions in Bruchem and Apeldoorn also caused injuries. A school in Ede was evacuated after a gas smell was detected. A bike‑battery sparked a shed fire in Groenlo and waste‑fires burned near Tiel.

In South Holland, police issued fines after youths set fire to a bench at Dobbeplas in Nootdorp and investigated a house fire in Gouda’s meter cupboard. Officers also seized illegal weapons in Monster and a dumped BMW suspected of foreign origin.

In Overijssel, a cyclist was injured in Nijverdal, a crane truck suffered a flat tyre on the N36 near Vriezenveen causing major delays, and a parked car was completely engulfed by fire in Zwolle.

All incidents prompted ambulance, police and fire‑brigade responses; no fatalities were reported.
