Dutch establishments Mossel & Gin and Roze Beurs close after years of operation

Two long-standing establishments in the Netherlands are closing their doors. In Amsterdam, Mossel & Gin will close on September 12 after twelve years of operation. The current owner, Wouter ten Velde, is transitioning to a new role as an advisor to three friends who will take over the location. They plan to reopen on October 1 as a modern Amsterdam eatery featuring seasonal dishes with subtle international influences, such as French, Thai, Indonesian, and Surinamese flavors.

In Leiden, the Roze Beurs, the city’s only gay café, has also reached its end. After 23 years, owner Michiel Hoogkamer held a final event attended by over 600 people. During the farewell, regular guests and the chairman of Pride Leiden presented Hoogkamer with a photo book and a donation of nearly 900 euros.
