Dutch fairs host community events in Oosterhout and Tholen
Local fairs in the Netherlands are hosting special events to engage the community. In Oosterhout, the final day of the Oosterhoutse Kermis is expected to be warm, with temperatures reaching up to 26 degrees Celsius. The festivities will conclude with a traditional fireworks display at the Slotjesveld at 22:15.
In Tholen, fair operators held a ‘Euro Day’ for the first time in seven years, offering attractions like bumper cars and carousels for just one euro. The initiative aims to make the fair accessible to individuals with limited financial means. Operators noted that while the event does not provide high financial returns, it serves a social purpose and helps preserve Dutch fair culture, which has been recognized on the Netherlands Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
