Dutch film 'Champagne – Uma Viagem de Pai e Filho' opens in Brazil

The Dutch comedy‑drama "Champagne – Uma Viagem de Pai e Filho" directed by Tim Kamps and starring Leo Alkemade (who also wrote the script) alongside Huub Stapel premiered in Brazilian cinemas on Thursday, 6 August 2026. The story follows Maarten, whose father Hans receives a terminal diagnosis, prompting a final road trip together to the Champagne region of France. The screenplay draws on Alkemade’s own experience of planning, but not completing, a similar journey with his father before the elder’s death.
