Dutch fire services tackle separate incidents in Oosterhout and Kaatsheuvel

In Oosterhout, a vacant vacation home at the De Katjeskelder holiday park was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters from Oosterhout, Teteringen, Terheijden and Breda responded quickly, preventing the blaze from spreading to neighboring properties. No occupants were present and no injuries were reported; the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In Kaatsheuvel, a reported fire at a shop on the main street turned out to be a false alarm. The building filled with smoke after an alarm system unintentionally activated a smoke machine. After the shop owner arrived and opened the rear doors, the smoke cleared and firefighters confirmed there was no fire, danger, or damage.

Both incidents required multi‑unit fire‑brigade deployments but resulted in no casualties or property loss beyond the burned vacation home.
