AZ Alkmaar draws 1-1 with Willem II, suffering first points loss

AZ Alkmaar suffered their first points loss of the Eredivisie season following a 1-1 draw against promoted side Willem II. Jordy Clasie opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after a pass from Calvin Stengs, marking his 350th Eredivisie appearance. However, Willem II equalized in the 80th minute through Devin Haen, assisted by Uriël van Aalst.

The match was marked by injury concerns for AZ, as Mexican defender Mateo Chávez had to be substituted during stoppage time after suffering discomfort following a fall. While AZ remains at the top of the league with 16 points, the draw prevents them from extending their lead over PSV Eindhoven.
