Dutch football clubs prepare for title race and Champions League action

The Dutch football landscape is shaping up for a competitive season. PSV Eindhoven, led by Peter Bosz, enters as the defending champion with a high-value squad including Lutsharel Geertruida, aiming for a fourth consecutive title. However, AZ faces strong competition as an undefeated leader. Meanwhile, Ajax and Feyenoord are pursuing different strategic paths to regain dominance. Ajax, under technical director Jordi Cruijff and coach Míchel Sánchez, is building a cohesive project around a specific playing style and new personnel. In contrast, Feyenoord has opted for continuity and club knowledge by appointing Giovanni van Bronckhorst, supported by staff with deep ties to the club's recent successes.

In European competition, PSV Eindhoven is preparing for a Champions League matchup against Club Brugge on November 4. Former Belgian international Luc Nilis noted that while PSV has gained maturity, Belgian clubs remain highly organized and offensively strong, making the contest a 50/50 prospect. PSV follows a challenging schedule that includes matches against RB Leipzig and FC Porto, while Club Brugge looks to bounce back from a recent loss to Aston Villa.
