Dutch Grand Prix sees record rail travel and minor public order incidents

The Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort saw significant logistical and social activity over the race weekend. Dutch Railways (NS) reported a record number of fans traveling by train, with approximately 163,000 visitors using rail services this weekend. Over the past six years, NS has transported nearly 800,000 passengers to the event, utilizing specialized 'Max Express' services and an exceptional timetable to move up to 10,000 passengers per hour.

On the social front, Zandvoort Mayor David Moolenburgh reported several arrests and area bans related to public order disturbances. Incidents included public intoxication, climbing fences, and one case of assault. The mayor described the level of disruption as negligible, comparing it to a busy weekend in a large city. Additionally, approximately 15 youths were referred to Bureau Halt due to alcohol consumption, a trend the mayor noted with concern.
