Dutch heritage sites open for Open Monumentendag

As part of the national Open Monumentendag on September 12, several historical sites in the Netherlands are opening to the public.

In Zeist, the GZB and IZB are hosting an open house at the new Huis van Zending. The event serves as a joint base for missionary work, offering tours, presentations on missionary projects, and a documentary regarding missionary work in Indonesia. The program includes scheduled celebrations and activities for children.

In Ouderkerk aan den IJssel, the Dorpskerk will be open from 10:00 to 17:00. This year’s theme, ‘Resilient heritage – in times of uncertainty,’ is reflected in an exhibition covering the church's history, including the Van Nassau Lalecq family tomb, the Kam organ, and past restorations. Visitors can also experience carillon and organ music. Additionally, the nearby Oudheidskamer will host the ‘Winters van vroeger’ exhibition.
